Quilting is our passion – providing a haven for quilters is our mission. Over the last 25 years three of us have been quilting together, sharing our life’s stories, and enriching our lives with an evolving sisterhood. We have discovered that quilting provides us with JOY, an oasis from the daily rigors of our lives, and a way to connect with like-minded fiber artists.
After months of touring potential retreat sites we discovered this ranch style home at 2418 Bradford Avenue. With the blessings of our spouses and families we closed on the property on a Friday afternoon. The next morning, bright and early, the demolition crew started by removing carpeting & window treatments, etc. Before we knew it the jumbo-sized dumpster in the driveway was full.
How does a residential home be renovated into a retreat site featuring:
- overnight weekend lodging
- overnight extended weekend options
- day meeting space with breakout group options
- instructional areas / maker-taker group options and
- site for small social gatherings
It takes gallons of paint, new electrical configurations, plumbing upgrades, new chimney tucking, installation of egress window & heating and air conditioning, grading outside & landscaping, new flooring, refurbishing wood trim & cabinetry, etc.
